We had a short ride to Wasaga Beach. I had been looking forward to this beach the whole trip, and the weather man was calling for rain. Thankfully, it turned out to be a beautiful day. Went swimming, relaxed, did some shopping. Really fun spot. Cameron left his wallet in one of the changing rooms of a store and lost $60. He had his passport and everything in it, so we're lucky that's all that was taken. Laid out in the sun for the rest of the day and found a campground to crash at.

Collingwood, Day 43
Started the day off beside a banana biker. Got on a nice path all the way to Collingwood and had to fix a flat. Saw the same banana bike again at the end of the day. We met a nice man that showed us around town. Ended up staying at a B&B.
Owen Sound, Day 42
Woke up to an amazing sky. Hopped on a ferry to get off of Manitoulin Island. Stopped at a really neat bakery in the middle of no where. Bought a coffee and a brownie with an I.O.U. Then peddled on to Owen Sound.
South Baymouth, Day 41
Back on the bikes to cross the very scenic Manitoulin Island. It was a beautiful day and the ride was out of this world. We passed ponds where people were fishing and swimming, and we saw some really huge birds in the fields. Cameron really enjoyed giving me a geology lesson of all the rock types and formations that we saw on the island. Pitched up the tent at a really nice campground and watched a floating lantern as we fell asleep.

Sault Ste Marie/Espanola, Day 39 & 40
Biked to Wakefield and jumped on a bus to take us to Sault Ste Marie. Roads were rough and the route was desolate. It was a tough decision to make but ultimately the safest one. We waited for 6 hours at the bus stop and almost got rejected by the bus driver because our bikes weren't boxed. Didn't sleep a wink on the overnight bus to Sault Ste Marie. Biked across the border to prepare for our next bus ride to Espanola. Didn't want to get rejected on the next bus, so we went on a box hunt around town. My engineer boyfriend struggled to build a suitable box for the bikes the first time around but came through in the end.
Ironwood, Day 38
After staying on a strangers lawn, we had a proper introduction with John. Went to a cafe and got a massive stack of pancakes! We must have shrunk because on our way out of town there was a huge chair with a huge beer and lawn dart randomly on the side of the road. The weather man predicted isolated showers which turned out to be isolated downpours. Waited them out and carried on to Ironwood. An empty house was there for us to stay at. Our warmshowers host let us use their winter home. And there was a sauna...boo yeah!
